Luantan Ascent

Luantan Ascent is a Taiwanese singer, composer, lyricist, producer, 

arranger, recorder, mixer and film score composer. He was the lead 

vocalist of an award-winning alternative rock band Luantan back in the 

late 90’s. Due to his rough and deep voice and a nothing but music 

hard life that let to heart touching performances, Ascent is one of the 

most respected musicians in Taiwan.

 

In 2002, Ascent became a solo artist, and ever since he has released 

nine albums, and numerous soundtracks for various Mandarin TV 

dramas and films. With more than two decades of songwriting and 

behind-the-scene experiences, Ascent has won a Golden Horse 

Award for the Best Original Film Song and six Golden Melody Awards 

which include two Best Performance Group with the band, Best Single 

Producer and Best Mandarin Male Singer awards.
